I am so sorry for the lack of updates the past few months! Things have been very busy, between trying to finish the book and our daily life. . . not to mention the fact that we are in the process of moving out of state!
We are almost done with the book. We're just waiting to hear back from a couple contributing authors for some articles and we have to finish up a few articles. . . we're aiming for the next week or so for it to be done!

We have been aiming for April for the book to be completed and published. It does not look like it will be able to be finished by that time. We have had some unexpected things come up this week, so it will take us longer than we had hoped to finish the book, because we will be very busy the next few weeks and months.

The book is coming along well.
We are hoping to have it completed and ready to publish by April 2008. We will have it available as an e-Book and as a soft-cover book.
We just got permission to include an article on Occupational Therapy by Maryanne Bruni, author of Fine Motor Skills In Children With Down Syndrome.
As I work through the book, I will post on here if we need anymore pictures, information, stories, etc.
Thank you,
~ Qadoshyah

We are including a small chapter in our book on adoption. So, if anyone who has adopted would be willing to share their story to include in the book, that would be awesome! Feel free to pass this onto anyone you may know who'd be interested ;).

We had alot of pictures submitted for the cover of our book. Thanks to all who submitted them!! We will also be putting pictures on the pages that begin each chapter. We have a pretty good start for those pictures, but we could use some more. Like, for the intervention section, we will want pictures of kids doing different activities, etc. I'll post more detail about this later.
We received permission from Dale Ulrich to reprint the information and research he has done on treadmill training in infants with Down syndrome. We also received permission to include the article by Dr. Matthias Gelb about TNI in children with Down syndrome. DSRF gave us permission to include the Health Care Guidelines for people with DS by Dr. Cohen. We've made a lot of progress on the book lately and it is coming together really well, thankfully.

We've been working on the book as much as we can. I've started working on the cover design. It is turning out very nice! It'll be a beautiful cover with a bunch of pictures of cuties with Down syndrome.
As I've been working on the book, I've noticed there are a few things we could use a "bit more of", for want of a better word:
~ On the cover we have space for several more pictures (about 10 or so). If anyone has any adorable pictures of their child (or sibling, grandkid, etc) with Down syndrome and would like their picture on the cover of our book, please let us know. Send us the picture and we'll see if it'll fit on the cover :).
~ We could use some more story submissions for the diagnosis chapter, TNI chapter, and breastfeeding chapter. If anyone has other stories and would like to submit them too, please let us know! Any and all stories are more than welcome, as we would like to be able to include as many stories (pictures are a plus!) as possible.
That's all for now - Qadoshyah :).

We have decided to include a section with stories written by or about someone with Down syndrome. In this section, we will be including stories by or about people who have accomplished a great feat (actor, chef, the list is long!), or just about an adult/older child with Down syndrome and how their life is. The chapter will be called "Life Stories."
Another addition to the book is going to be a section on adoption. We will be looking for stories by parents who have adopted a child (or children) with Down syndrome. We will also be looking for information to include in the book about how to adopt.
